My favorite place to skate is Het Noorderplantsoen, it’s a park in my hometown Groningen, the Netherlands.
We start our Friday Fun Skate (FFS, the Groningen nightskate) from there every fridaynight at 20.00, April 15 – September 30.
We play rollerbasketball there on one of the 2 BB courts.
We do freestyle-slalom there.
Even most of our speedskates start from there.
It has wide and good quality asphalt pavement and there is only bicycles, no cars, so it’s great for beginners to start skating there.
Skating is big in Groningen and still growing, I’m very happy that all kinds of skating get more and more followers! All fanatic skaters (like me ) work together to get people to try different kinds of skating.
You never get bored of skating if you can choose between 10 different ways of doing fun things on skates!
